Hope In Motion Fort Bend is a non-competitive 1.8 mile walk to raise awareness & hope to prevent suicide. Funds raised benefit Fort Bend Mental Health in order to provide education, advocacy & resources right here👇 in Fort Bend County.

Thanks to caring community members like yourselves, our mental health community event (formerly named Hike for Hope) has made great strides to promote mental wellness and prevent suicide in Fort Bend County. This spring a bold, new local non-profit organization, Fort Bend Mental Health (FBMH), is launching an awareness walk named HOPE IN MOTION to get closer to our vision of a world where mental health is prioritized, understood, and supported. A portion of the funds will be contributed to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

Mental health awareness and suicide prevention are more important than ever and, with your partnership, we can make an even greater difference in the lives of those in Fort Bend County.

  • Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States and the suicide rate continues to rise.

  • In 2022, 10.3 out of every 100,000 Fort Bend County residents died by suicide (Source)

Fort Bend Mental Health is on a MISSION to promote mental wellness and prevent suicide in Fort Bend County by advocating for awareness, providing training and education, and connecting communities to resources and compassionate support.

We envision a world where mental health is prioritized, understood, and supported—free from stigma and full of compassion. We are dedicated to creating safe spaces, fostering open conversations, and empowering individuals and communities to take charge of their mental well-being. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, we aim to build a future where mental health care is accessible to all and no one suffers in silence. Together, we strive for a healthier, more connected, and mentally resilient community.

Fort Bend Mental Health is the local bridge — connecting everyday people in Fort Bend County (that's you, the "Helpers") with mental health resources, professionals, and community support. We focus on empowering Helpers — parents, teachers, faith leaders, coworkers, law enforcement, business leaders, elected officials, and friends — to recognize distress, provide compassionate support, and connect people to care. Our intentionally local approach ensures that no one in Fort Bend is left behind.

We are rooted in community connection. Unlike organizations that primarily serve at a state or national level, Fort Bend Mental Health:

  • We're focused on connecting and resourcing people in Fort Bend County.

  • Our programs focus on equipping local Helpers.

  • We are committed to intentional partnerships with professionals and institutions with a grassroots, neighborly, and community-driven approach.
