We are so excited that you are interested in volunteering in a leadership role for HOPE IN MOTION. 

  • The Outreach Coordinator focuses on inviting, engaging, and energizing walkers and participants to take part in the event. This role uses email, social media, and personal outreach to spread the word and build excitement. It’s perfect for someone who loves connecting with people and sharing a cause they care about.

  • The Community Partners Coordinator builds relationships with local businesses, organizations, and groups that can support or participate in the walk. This role helps expand the event’s reach through sponsorships, partnerships, and collaborative promotion. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys networking and community-building.

  • The Media & Press Coordinator handles press releases, local news outreach, and helps develop messaging and brand assets for the event. This role plays a big part in making sure the community hears about the walk and its mission. A great fit for someone who enjoys storytelling, media, and marketing.

  • The Chair or Co-Chairs provide overall leadership for the walk, helping guide planning, keep committees aligned, and support volunteer leads. This role works closely with coordinators to ensure timelines stay on track and decisions are made collaboratively. Ideal for someone who enjoys organizing people and keeping the big picture in focus.

  • The Sponsorship Coordinator leads efforts to secure financial and in-kind support for the walk. This role connects with local businesses and organizations, shares sponsorship opportunities, and helps build meaningful partnerships. It’s a great fit for someone comfortable with outreach and relationship-building.

  • The Communications Coordinator acts as a liaison with the Fort Bend Mental Health Communications Committee to keep everyone informed and engaged leading up to the event. This role supports messaging across email, social media, and other channels to ensure consistent, clear communication with participants and volunteers. Perfect for someone who enjoys writing, organizing information, and keeping things moving.

  • The Logistics Coordinator helps bring the walk to life by coordinating the route, supplies, vendors, and all day-of details. This role also leads and supports volunteers on event day to ensure everything runs smoothly. A few hours a week leading up to the event and in-person leadership on walk day are key.

  • The Program Coordinator helps shape the experience on walk day by coordinating the schedule, speakers, and any planned activities. This role works closely with logistics and leadership to ensure the program flows smoothly and aligns with the event’s purpose. Ideal for someone who enjoys planning meaningful experiences.

  • The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, organizes, and supports volunteers leading up to and on the day of the walk. This role helps assign roles, share expectations, and ensure volunteers feel prepared and appreciated. A great fit for someone who enjoys supporting others and keeping teams organized.

We are thrilled that you are interested in volunteering at HOPE IN MOTION on May 9, 2026. 

There will be a mandatory Zoom meeting on May 7 at 6:00pm. 

All volunteers will need to arrive promptly and stay until their time is complete. 

  • DIRECTIONAL SIGN HANDLER
    Volunteer will pick up sign prior to walk with location of placement to be done by 7am (no later) | 6:00am-7:00am

    PARK SET UP
    Set up tables, tents for the walk, water stations, etc. | 7:00am-8:00am

    BANNER HANGER
    We will need 2 ladders and 4 people (adults only) to hang stage banners | 7:00am-8:00am

    LARGE TEAM SUPPORT
    Help teams set up their team area | 7:00am-8:00am

    MEMORY WALL
    Set up 3-fold memory wall, cover back with paper, hand framed photos (everything will be provided) | 7:00am-8:00am

    SIGN PLACEMENT ALONG WALK ROUTE
    Place signs walkers bring along walk route before walk starts | 7:30am-9:30am

  • ROADSIDE SIGN FLIPPERS
    Grab everyone's attention as they travel on Hwy 59 feeder making sure they use the first exit! | 7:30am-9:30am

    ARRIVAL CROSSING GUARD
    Help pedestrians safely cross from the parking lots | 7:30am-9:30am

    ARRIVAL DIRECTORS
    “Hello! Have you registered? Here’s where to go next!” | | 7:30am-9:30am

    TOP TEAM TENTS CONCIERGE
    You will "wait on" the biggest team and the top fundraising team to make them feel EXTRA special. Someone wants a coffee? grab them one at Dutch Bros booth, etc. You'll need to be VERY open about what your "job" is for the day. No shy people for this! | 7:30am-9:30am

    DEPARTURE CROSSING GUARD
    Help pedestrians safely cross back to the parking lots | 9:30am-11:30am

  • T-SHIRT TABLE (adults only) Award t-shirts to those who raised a qualifying amount of donations. Sell t-shirts and merch | 7:30am-11:00am

    COLORS TABLE (adults only) Set up colors table, Help people choose their colors and distribute them, put away colors at end of event | 7:30am-11:00am

    FOOD TABLE Distribute pre-packaged muffins and waters | 7:30am-11:00am

    SMILE STOP: SPIN THE WHEEL Sell spins, award prizes and place hair tinsel and temporary tattoos | 7:30am-11:00am

    BRACELET TABLE Enjoy sitting at the Pony Bead Bracelet table. These are already made. You'll accept $5 or more donation per bracelet | 7:30am-11:00am

    CRAFT TABLE HOST Assist participants with a themed craft
    | 7:30am-11:00am

  • WALK ROUTE ENCOURAGER
    Hold a poster that will be decorated ahead of time and give encouragement at designated spots along with walk route. | 9:30am-11:30am

    WATER STATION
    Hand out water to walk participants | 9:30am-11:30am

    PARTICIPANT SIGN COLLECTOR
    Follow last walker. Collect signs and place at finish line for people to take with them. This will require a lot of walking. | 10:30am-12:00pm

  • CLEAN UP PARK
    Pick up all trash, take down tables/chairs/tents, water stations, signs, etc. | 11:00am-12:00pm

    DIRECTIONAL SIGN COLLECTOR
    Pick up all signs | 11:00am-12:00pm

    TAKE DOWN BANNERS
    Bring 2 ladders and 4 people (adults only) to take down stage banners | 11:00am-12:00pm
